Everything led up to this day other than graduation!
Finally it was show day! We had put everything together got all dolled up and professional and it was time to start the show! The 2024 portfolio show!
I showed up early in the morning so I could put my last finishing touches on my board! A friend and I realized we needed a break before the show so we ran and grabbed some coffee before coming back! We finished up our boards and headed to the hub where the show was held and started setting up. We still had some time before the show started so a bunch of us ran to the mall to grab a bite to eat before we had to stand in the same place for three hours lol! Then it was time. The nerves there there! Waiting for that first industry professional to come up and shake your hand! I had no idea what to expect! The first hour of the show was strictly for industry professionals! Then the rest was for anyone and/ or families to come! Once the first person came up to me I realized it wasn’t that bad and I just had to be myself! Everything went pretty smoothly I felt! The only unfortunate part of the whole show was how HOT it was in the building lol! We had to turn the big overhead fans down so no one’s trifolds or extra work would be messed up! Overall besides the heat, I got to meet some really cool people and get some new connections! I’m glad it went well and I feel it was successful.
